Goals: to work with developING nations to enhance the quality of life.

SUSTAINABILITY IS NOT ONLY FOR DEVELOPED COUNTRIES - IT IS ALSO FOR DEVELOPING NATIONS AND PEOPLE.

OUR GOAL IS TO WORK WITH GOVERNMENTS AND PEOPLE TO DEMONSTRATE SUSTAINABILITY.

WITH THE PERMISSION AND COOPERATION OF THESE GOVERNMENTS AND PERHAPS THE COOPERATION OF THE UNITED NATIONS AND HUMANITARIAN GROUPS, WE BELIEVE THAT THESE PROJECTS WILL BE A BENEFIT.

WHEREAS JESSCO HOMES IS CURRENTLY WORKING ON AN ECO - MODEL COMMUNITY IN THE CARIBBEAN, WE ARE CONSIDERING THE POSSIBILITY OF WORKING WITH THE COUNTRY OF HAITI AS AN INITIAL PROJECT.

WHY HAITI

Haiti occupies the western 1/3 of the Island of Hispaniola, between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, west of the Dominican Republic.

According to the CIA Factbook (2009), the following statistics were recorded concerning the economic development of Haiti.

  1. There are over 9 Million people living in Haiti and 43% of that population are children between the ages of 0 and 14 years old.
  2. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and the second poorest country in the world.
  3. Approximately 2/3 of the population lives in poverty.
  4. There is widespread unemployment and underemployment.  More than 2/3 of tje workforce does not have formal jobs.  There is a tremendous shortage of skilled labor, even though unskilled labor is abundant, there are not enough jobs available.
  5. 70% of all Haitians depend on the agriculture sector, which consists mainly of small scale farming.
  6. The average annual income is Haitians that are employed is $250.00 to $300.00 per year.  That is less than the average American earns in one week.
  7. Extensive deforestation (much of the remaining forested land is being cleared for agriculture and used as fuel); soil erosion; inadequate supplies of potable water.

THE FOLLOWING HOUSES WERE BUILT IN AN IMPOVERISHED LOCATION IN MEXICO USING THE HOUSING SYSTEMS THAT ARE AVAILABLE IN THE "HOUSING' SECTION OF THIS WEB SITE AND LOCAL LABOR.

THERE REALLY IS HOPE FOR DEVELOPING AND LEAST DEVELOPED NATIONS

Rather than a hand out; Jessco Homes, Eco-Sustainable Systems, other groups and organizations and you can provide an opportunity for a "Hand Up!" by teaching people new ways to enhance the quality of life.

GIVE A MAN A FISH AND HE WILL EAT FOR A DAY - TEACH HIM TO FISH AND HE WILL EAT FOR A LIFETIME.

WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELP THE LESS FORTUNATE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD TO BECOME SUSTAINABLE?

Shelter, water and food are the essentials of physical existence.  With the support of Jessco Homes and Eco Sustainable Systems (and you); we can teach the Haitians to provide for themselves and aslo create a micro economy.

SHELTER

With the COMPRESSED EARTH BLOCK SYSTEM - DOME HOMES (or other building systems that can be built at a low cost using local materials and labor) we can teach the local people to build homes, schools, churches, health care facilities and other structures for the price of "dirt" and labor.

WATER

With the solar/battery/wind powered water systems, we can teach the local prople to provide clean water.

FOOD

With the high output organic food systems we can teach the local people to provide nutritional food to the communities.

SEPTIC WASTE MANAGEMENT

With the septic waste management system we can provide a healthy environment to prevent disease in the area.

INFRASTRUCTURE - ROADS

With the enzyme road system, we can provide roads for the price of dirt (and basic equipment and labor).

 ENERGY PRODUCTION

With Solar - Wind and battery power we can provide electricity to remote locations without expensive power plants and infrastructure.

REFORRESTATION

We have the fastest growing trees in the world that can replenish the forests, prevent erosion and provide wood products to the communities.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

With on site (on the job) training and a "sweat equity" program, we can train local people to build a sustainable community, earn equity in their homes, create jobs so that the new home owners can pay for homes (low cost).

Literacy programs through formal training, books, computer learning through a satelite up link powered by solar, wind and batteries for wifi access.

By demonstrating that we can take the second poorest nation on earth to a prospering people - we can show the world that THERE IS HOPE!!!

WILL THIS BE A CHALLENGE?  YOU BET!!!

As it has been stated "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time..."
