Reforestation Paulownia Trees

The Worlds Fastest Growing Trees (PAULOWNIA) as a light weight hardwood that obsorbs massive amounts of CO2.

Tree Characteristics and Uses

Paulownia trees are a very fast growing tree species that when grown in managed plantations can be harvested for wood in 4-7 years!  For the pulp market, (bio-mass) harvest may be as short as 2 - 3 years.

Wood Characteristics

Produces high-grade hardwood with many varied uses.

World’s fastest growing hardwood tree!
Tree re-grows from stump.
Wood can be sold in the International market or used as pulp.
Wood is hard, but lightweight (strongest wood to weight ratio).

These Paulownia Trees are 1 year old.

These Plantation trees are approximately one year old!
Trees can reach a height of up to 30 feet  in 1 year.
Food crops can be inter-planted for the first few years to yield a “cash crop!” as the trees grow to their planned harvest.

Example of Paulownia Re-growth

April 25th - “31 inches!”

August 23, 18 Feet Tall!

Why plant Paulownia?

Paulownia is an extremely fast growing hardwood with characteristics that allow adaptation to a broad range of uses.

Adaptable to a wide range of climate zones.

Uses for Paulownia wood range from fine furniture to bio-mass.

Special treatment of the Paulownia wood will increase strength by up to 50% allowing for it’s use in construction.

Carbon uptake makes the paulownia a very important component in reducing man’s “carbon footprint!”

Leaves can be used as an animal feedstock, and is an excellent source of nitrogen rich compost.

Paulownia trees are excellent fast growing ornamental trees that produce a beautiful flower when used in landscapes!

Paulonia in Bloom

From Ornamental to Forestry
Paulownia holds promise to be one of the most important trees now and in our future!
The income streams that can be derived from this truly remarkable tree are numerous and sustainable.
Agroforestry; the intercropping of food crops with Paulownia allow income streams from “year one!”
Global effort is now in progress to re-forest  areas of our planet that have been ravaged by mans cutting of our eco-sensitive Rain Forests. as it is necessary to replace oxygen which is vital to our wellbeing.
Erosion is also kept in check by re-forestation where forests have been clear-cut.
Uptake of CO2 is of great importance in maintaining ecological balance as man’s carbon footprint impacts global warming.
Paulownia wood, indigenous to China,  has been used to make fine furniture for thousands of years.
